Honors Program Council
The Phi Theta Kappa Honors Program Council is responsible for making recommendations to headquarters staff about the biennial Honors Study Topic, for assisting with the compilation of the Honors Program Guide, and for serving as members of the Editorial Board for Civic Scholar: The Phi Theta Kappa Journal of Undergraduate Research.
Made up of Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors, headquarters staff, and consultants, members of the Honors Program Council are selected for their broad knowledge of the Honors Study Topic, balance in their academic disciplines, and their understanding of and commitment to Phi Theta Kappa’s integrated approach to its Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship.
Honors Program Council 2022
We are currently accepting applications for Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors Program Council!
Honors Program Council members serve for four consecutive years, and individuals selected to serve this year will begin their time on the Honors Program Council with the July 2022 Council meeting and will serve through June 2026.
The 2022 Council meeting will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico July 31 (arrival) through August 6 (departure). Council members must fully participate in meeting activities for the duration of the meeting. At the 2022 meeting, the council will be discussing ideas for the 2024/2025 Honors Study Topic. Subsequent Council meetings will be held in different cities each year.
We are currently seeking Honors Program Council representatives for the following positions:
- Humanities Representative
- STEM Representative
- Leadership Development Studies Representative
