Luther College Increases PTK Transfer Scholarship

Luther College in Iowa has increased their transfer scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa members from $1,000 a year to $2,500 a year.

The scholarship is renewable for up to four years or until the student completes a bachelor’s degree. The scholarship is stackable with other scholarships offered by the university.

Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Starting fall 2025, Luther College has established a scholarship of $2500 per academic year for Phi Theta Kappa members. This initiative reflects Luther College’s commitment to academic merit, promoting student success, and fostering a diverse community.

This scholarship is renewable for up to four years and can be combined with other scholarships offered. This scholarship is for new incoming transfer students.

Why does your college feel that it is important to offer a scholarship opportunity for members?

Luther College provides scholarships to transfer students who are PTK members to acknowledge their academic achievements and leadership skills. We value the contributions these students bring to our classrooms, residence halls, and campus community. This scholarship helps reduce the cost for transfer students, making it easier for them to pursue their bachelor’s degree. It also reflects Luther College’s dedication to supporting students throughout their educational journey, particularly those who have demonstrated commitment and success at the community college level.

Are there other transfer scholarships that could be stacked with your Phi Theta Kappa award?

Yes, Luther College offers additional scholarships that can be combined with the PTK award. Luther offers generous merit-based scholarships with awards currently up to $36,000 per year, as well as, talent-based awards.

In your opinion, what is one of the most impressive things about your college?

One of the most impressive aspects of Luther College is its dedication to student development and success. We create a supportive learning environment where students can explore a wide range of disciplines and engage in hands-on experiences, such as our human anatomy lab, study abroad programs, or internships at Mayo Clinic.
