Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 West Williamson Difference Maker Award, an honor celebrating staff members who embody a commitment to PTK’s members and mission, dedicated service, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others.

The award is named in memory of West Williamson, a beloved PTK alumnus and staff member whose impact continues to shape the organization. West became a PTK member in 1987 at Holmes Community College’s Ridgeland Campus and went on to serve PTK for 23 years. Over the course of his career, West held numerous roles throughout the organization but was most known for his encyclopedic knowledge of PTK and its history. West was beloved by colleagues, members, college faculty members, and college leaders alike.
This year, Phi Theta Kappa is honored to recognize Sherekia Donerson, Membership Support Specialist, as the 2025 recipient of the West Williamson Difference Maker Award. Sherekia joined PTK just one year ago and has quickly become known for ensuring that everyone around her feels supported, valued, and heard.
“West was one of those once-in-a-lifetime employees. He certainly left his mark on this place—leaving PTK better than he found it,” said PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner. ” His kindness and his commitment to students shaped who we are as an organization, and this award carries that legacy forward. Recognizing Sherekia this year feels exactly right.”
In every facet of her work and in her interactions with others, Sherekia reflects PTK’s core values—uplifting those around her and making a lasting impact on members and colleagues. Her dedication and heart reflect the very best of PTK
