Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Phi Theta Kappa members who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are admitted to St. Lawrence as transfer students will receive a renewable $50,000 scholarship per year ($25,000 per semester). This scholarship is in addition to need-based financial aid for which the student is deemed eligible through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Why does your college feel that it is important to offer a scholarship opportunity for members?

St. Lawrence is offering a PTK Scholarship because we recognize and value the organization’s hallmarks of leadership, service, scholarship, and fellowship. PTK members are committed to intellectual growth and achievement, and we want to make a St. Lawrence education more accessible to outstanding transfer students interested in continuing their education here.

Are there other transfer scholarships that could be stacked with your Phi Theta Kappa award?

Recipients of this scholarship are also eligible for need-based financial aid through the FAFSA, but this award cannot be stacked with other scholarships.

What other opportunities are available for transfer students at your institution to assist them in successfully transitioning from community college?

At St. Lawrence, our Office of Academic Advising works closely with each incoming transfer student to plan their course of study. In addition, on-campus housing is guaranteed for all students, and we offer theme houses, suite-style accommodations, and townhouses, in addition to traditional residence halls. We also hold a Club and Organization Fair at the start of each semester, so both new and returning students are welcome to join any of our 150+ campus groups at any point during their years at St. Lawrence.

In your opinion, what is one of the most impressive things about your college?

On our 1,000-acre campus located a short distance from the Adirondack Mountains, St. Lawrence offers extensive resources to support our students’ intellectual exploration, personal growth, and professional goals. With dozens of areas of study, hands-on experiences on campus and abroad, easy access to a wide range of outdoor adventures, and the No. 1 alumni network in the country (as ranked by the Princeton Review), St. Lawrence students discover their unique paths in a dynamic and collaborative community.

Are there any special events or deadlines on your recruitment calendar that you would like to share?

Our transfer application deadline for Fall 2026 is March 2, 2026, and our deadline for Spring 2027 is November 2, 2026. Please note that we’ll accept applications submitted after these dates on a space-available basis. More information on our transfer application process is available here.
