Evy Poumpouras

Catalyst is an action-packed event for all attendees, and to add to the excitement former Secret Service Special Agent and Interrogator Evy Poumpouras is joining the Catalyst speaker line-up.

Evy’s speech will focus on how to own your story, reading people, and how others read you. She will be speaking on Saturday, April 6 at PTK Catalyst 2024. Following her keynote speech, she will be holding a book-signing for Catalyst attendees.

Evy served a secret service special agent for over a decade, a career dominated by men. However, during her action-packed career, she protected the nation’s most powerful people. She was a member of the Presidential Protective Division for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, and she protected Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George H.W. Bush.

While in the Secret Service, Evy also worked on criminal investigations, operated undercover, and served as an interrogator the agency’s elite polygraph unit. In the unit, she was specially trained in the art of lie detection, human behavior, and cognitive influence. After the terror September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center, Evy was one of the first responders on the scene. For her service, she received the United States Secret Service Valor Award in recognition for her heroic efforts.

Since leaving the Secret Service, Evy has taken the skills she learned there in the art of communication and psychology to build a multifaceted career.

She is a widely recognized multimedia journalist, host, and producer and uses her skills to investigate the biggest stories in the media. She received her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School Journalism.

She was the co-host of Bravo’s TV competition Spy Games, a show inspired by the secret World War II government program that assessed civilians and trained them to be spies. In the series, ten individuals came together to compete with one another to see who has what it takes to be a spy.

Evy also regularly shares her expertise on national security, criminal justice, and crime on shows like Today and Good Morning America and networks like NBC and MSNBC.

Before becoming a Secret Service Special Agent, Evy was the first member of her family to attend college. Now, outside of her career as a journalist and TV personality, Evy is an adjunct professor of criminal justice and criminology at The City University of New York.

In 2020, Evy released her best-selling book Becoming Bulletproof: Protect Yourself, Read People, Influence Situations, Live Fearlessly in which she introduces unique and actionable strategies for influencing any situation and transforming yourself into a stronger, more confident, and more powerful person.
