Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.
Emmanuel College awards Phi Theta Kappa members a minimum scholarship of $25,000 per year. When applying to Emmanuel, students should select “yes” to notify us of their membership in PTK. If the student is admitted, the scholarship will be clearly listed on their acceptance letter.
Why does your college feel that it is important to offer a scholarship opportunity for members?
Phi Theta Kappa students are historically hardworking and apply themselves academically. These are characteristics that Emmanuel College looks for in its applicants and the type of qualities that help students succeed at Emmanuel. This PTK scholarship rewards members for their continued effort and hopefully eases their four-year college application process.
In your opinion, what is one of the most impressive things about your college?
Emmanuel is located right in the heart of Boston, which allows students to enhance their college experience academically, professionally, and socially. All students complete an internship before graduating from Emmanuel, and the campus location provides students the opportunity to gain experience at one of the hospitals in the Longwood Medical Area like Brigham and Women’s and Boston Children’s, sports and entertainment experience working with the Boston Red Sox or Celtics, finance and accounting exposure at firms like State Street and PWC, and countless others. Students at Emmanuel gain all the benefits of life in the city while still living and learning in a fully contained, residential campus. It truly is the best of both worlds!
