Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.
Houghton University is pleased to be able to offer a $2,000/year award to any member of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society who chooses to transfer to Houghton.
Why does your college feel that it is important to offer a scholarship opportunity for members?
PTK members demonstrate dedication to their education and motivation to succeed, making them a great addition to the Houghton community. We want to make transferring to Houghton financially accessible to these incredible students who desire to continue their education in a Christ-centered community where their faith meets the academic preparation they need to succeed in their callings. We’re excited to be able to offer the opportunity of the PTK Scholarship to support students and their families.

Yes! Houghton’s PTK Scholarship can be stacked with both academic scholarships and donor-funded scholarships.
What other opportunities are available for transfer students at your institution to assist them in successfully transitioning from community college?
Houghton offers a transfer student orientation that allows transfer students to connect with other transfer students joining our community. This creates a strong peer-to-peer network of students experiencing the same transitions who can support each other as they familiarize themselves with Houghton’s campus and local area.
