2009 International Honors Institute 2009 International Honors Institute will provide approximately 400 participants with a week of intensive study of the 2008-2010 Honors Study Topic, The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences.
The 2008-2010 Honors Study Topic - The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences - provides avenues for honors students to enrich their scholarly endeavors with the interdisciplinary exploration of a timely topic and then apply their knowledge as servant leaders in the college and the community. Bank of America was a proud sponsor of the 2009 Phi Theta Kappa International Convention. Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Programs build and equip the next generation of leaders at the grassroots level. Leadership development opportunities are offered for students and faculty. Scholarship Focus: The All-USA Community College Academic Team annually recognizes 20 outstanding two-year college students, offering stipends of $2,500. All receive extensive national recognition through coverage in USA TODAY. The All-State Community College Academic Team annually recognizes 50 New Century, 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars with each scholar receiving a stipend and recognition in USA TODAY. 150 national finalists also receive stipends. The Guistwhite Scholarship Program awards twenty qualifying students scholarships of $5,000 each, for completion of baccalaureate degrees.
